Stepping into your home when it smells good is the best feeling. The way your home smells can bring about a sense of calm and make you feel more relaxed and happy. Here are some epic ways to make your home smell great:
1.Open the windows
The number one tip is always to let some fresh air in. Fresh air removes some of the smells associated with cooking, as well as any other lingering smells and brings in a clean fresh scent. 5. Launder clothes
One of the smells I love most has to be the smell of freshly laundered clothes. You can also try your hand at making your own scented dryer sheets.
An easy way to do this is by cutting up some cotton cloths or old t-shirts into small pieces and putting them into a large bowl. Then combine 125ml vinegar with 8 drops of your favourite essential oil in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the cloths. Keep in a closed container. To use, remove from the container, squeeze excess liquid into the jar and add into the tumble dryer.
6. Make your own household cleaner
To make your own quick and effective easy all purpose lemon/lime spray simply strain the juice of 1 lemon and 1 lime into a bowl through a muslin cloth. Stir in 1 cup of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of water. Pour into a spray bottle and shake well.
7. Declutter, find the worst offenders and tackle them
The usual suspects include unclean upholstery, damp laundry, leftovers in the fridge, clogged sink drains, musty pillows and dusty rugs. Check them all and get cleaning!
8. Clean your carpet by:
.Vacuuming the carpet
.Sprinkling over an even layer of bicarbonate of soda
.Leave in the carpet for half an hour before vacuuming again.
